View AI moderated study session recordings

AI moderated studies are continuously recorded, so each participant's submission includes a video spanning their entire session—their audio, screen recording, and camera feed.

To open a participant's session recording:

1

Navigate to the Responses tab of your study.

2

Click the Participants icon in the left sidebar, then select the participant.

3

Click View full recording at the top of the participant's response data.

Now, the session recording opens with the video player alongside a panel of views. Use the tabs beside the recording to switch between the views described below.

Transcript

The Transcript view is shown by default. It displays the full, timestamped conversation between the AI moderator and the participant, synced to the recording—click any line to jump straight to that moment in the video.

Note: If you enabled multiple languages, you can view the transcript in both English and the original language using the language toggle.

Clicks

The Clicks view shows the participant's on-screen interactions during Task questions—the clicks they made on your website or prototype—so you can see how they navigated. Clicks are grouped by task.

Note: The Clicks view appears only for sessions that include a Task question, and click data is captured only when your study requires the Chrome extension. For more information, see Manage participant experience in an AI moderated study.

Clips

The Clips view lists any clips created from the recording, by you or another researcher. Clips are short, shareable excerpts—useful for highlighting a key moment for your stakeholders.

To create a clip:

1

Click + New in the top right of the Clips view.

2

On the recording's timeline, use the sliding bar to set a start and end point.

3

Click Create clip. Your new clip appears in the Clips view.

Use the My clips and Favorites options to filter which clips are shown.

Tags

The Tags view shows the tags applied to this session. Tags help you label and organize key moments so you can quickly find and filter them during analysis. For more information, see Create and manage tags.

Visual intelligence

When enabled, visual intelligence captures data based on participants' expressions and actions they take on their screens. This data is displayed in various forms throughout analysis of an AI moderated study. For more information, see Visual intelligence.
