# Manage appearance of an AI moderated study

You can make your study engaging and welcoming—and help it stand out to applicants if you're auto-recruiting participants—by customizing its appearance. You can add a custom hero image, apply your company's branding, and add a study description that tells participants what to expect.

### Hero image

The hero image is the first thing participants see when accessing your study. You can upload your own or choose one provided by Unsplash.

**To change your study's hero image:**

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Navigate to the **Overview** tab of your study.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2Fx3IDLlltbsOcoeMtiKpE%2FAI_mod_appearance.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=d909a22f-807e-47ef-b474-af5faa782d0e" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click anywhere in the **Appearance** section.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Under **Appearance**, click **Change image**. A photo selection modal is displayed.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2Ftagf0X51Ryl8YnkQUYLm%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=6a3707ca-62bb-46e9-a4b3-baa3ccc0a3c5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
On the **Photos** tab, select an Unsplash photo. Or, click the **Upload your own** tab to choose a local file.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2FsF5WHgAQI0E4461NomzR%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=415c22ad-70ac-484a-80aa-61630f84c5cc" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** The maximum file size for uploaded photos is 3MB.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click **Save**.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

Now, your study's hero image is updated and will be displayed to participants when they access your study.

<figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2FF5gl825GUM1q9eLxNytt%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=555fdaf1-b58c-445a-8c08-3afae828cefb" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Company branding

You can display your organization's logo, company URL, and more directly on your study's landing page. This gives your studies a consistent feel and makes them easily recognizable as belonging to your organization.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** Before you can enable company branding at the study level, it must be configured on your Dscout account. For more information, see [Company branding](/account-management/organization-account-settings/company-branding.md).
{% endhint %}

**To apply company branding to your study:**

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Navigate to the **Overview** tab of your study.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2Fx3IDLlltbsOcoeMtiKpE%2FAI_mod_appearance.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=d909a22f-807e-47ef-b474-af5faa782d0e" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click anywhere in the **Appearance** section. The settings panel is displayed.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Set the **Company branding** toggle to **ON**.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2FNqR422lie4k2splwgQp0%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=45692505-83a4-4b7c-ad65-fee62947f01c" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

Now, your company's pre-configured branding is displayed on your study's landing page when you launch.

### Study description

Your study's description should give participants an idea of what to expect without giving away your research objectives. Include enough information that participants know what they're signing up for, but not so much that they know what answers you're looking for.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** The study description field isn't available on studies that add participants from screeners. In that case, include a description in the screener used to recruit your participants.
{% endhint %}

**To add a study description:**

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Navigate to the **Overview** tab of your study.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2Fx3IDLlltbsOcoeMtiKpE%2FAI_mod_appearance.jpg?alt=media&amp;token=d909a22f-807e-47ef-b474-af5faa782d0e" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click anywhere in the **Study details** section, then enter a **Study description**.

<figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2FOsCwOktafVA2I0QT5GHX%2FAI_mod_appearance%20(1).jpg?alt=media&amp;token=a1727a57-8027-4d2b-b3ee-de20dafa835d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="success" %}
**Tip:** You can format your text in the following ways:

* `*bold*` displays as **bold**
* `_italic_` displays as *italic*
* `[Sample link](https://example.com)` displays as a link
  {% endhint %}
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click **Done**.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

Now, your study description is saved and will be displayed to participants when they access or apply to your study.

<figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2FhvZf3CRBKOmJPizSl81T%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=b8f104a5-9980-4eec-be18-f71748edcb38" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.dscout.com/ai-moderated-studies/create-an-ai-moderated-study/manage-appearance-of-an-ai-moderated-study.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
