# Manage language of an AI moderated study

AI moderated studies let you scale your research in ways other study types can't, including conducting interview-style sessions in multiple languages. You can run your study in 25+ supported languages, letting participants choose what works best for them. Responses and transcripts are automatically translated back to English for analysis.

Supported languages include:

{% column %}

**To enable multi-language support:**

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Set the **Allow non-English speakers** toggle to **ON**. A language drop-down is displayed.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://3976082747-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FIKfn7RcT4CW9XaIbqAdd%2Fuploads%2FXCpjK2gNUuIoulyrPjqK%2FAI%20Mod%20updates%20(13).jpg?alt=media&amp;token=3d5b07a4-12ba-4c24-adad-5ae8b043cf17" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
From the drop-down, select the languages you want to support. Participants choose one of these at the start of their session.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click **Save**.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

Now, your language selection is saved. When participants join your launched study, they can select their preferred language:

The participant's session is conducted in their selected language, including written questions and answer choices as well as the AI moderation itself. Responses and transcripts are automatically translated back to English for analysis, but you can view transcripts in both English and the original language. To switch between languages, use the language toggle in the top right of the full session recording view:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.dscout.com/ai-moderated-studies/create-an-ai-moderated-study/manage-language-of-an-ai-moderated-study.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
