# Navigate the Dscout platform

First things first, welcome to Dscout! There’s so much we can help you discover, but before we dive in, let’s cover the basics of navigating the platform.

### Homepage (Projects page)

When you first log in to Dscout, you’ll find yourself on the Dscout homepage. Here, you’ll see all your projects, including those you’ve created and those you’ve been invited to collaborate on.

| **Sidebar navigation** (1)              |
The sidebar is your fastest way to get around the Dscout platform. Directly below the Dscout logo, you’ll see your Dscout account name. If your account has workspaces enabled, this serves as a drop-down where you can easily switch between workspaces.

Note: The contents of the sidebar may vary depending on your user role. If you don’t see something you think you should have access to, reach out to your Dscout account owner.

Below that, you’ll find quick links to:

The projects page (or the homepage), where you can see all the projects you’re a part of or create a new project.

Private Panels, Dscout’s panel management tool. Just click the project name to head straight there.

The side navigation is also how you’ll access your profile and account settings. | Projects **search** and **filters** (2) | Here, you can enter search terms to quickly find the project you’re looking for, or use the filters **All**, **Created by you**, **Created by others**, and **Completed** to view only the projects that fit into those categories. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.dscout.com/getting-started/dscout-quickstart-guide/navigate-the-dscout-platform.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
