This article details the requirements and process for integrating your dscout account with Okta. Read on or click the links below to learn more:

Prerequisites

Prior to configuring SAML, you must have an existing dscout account on the Select or Enterprise subscription tier. You will also need your dscout Account Manager to support you through the configuration; you can locate their contact information on the right side of your dscout homepage.

 

Supported features

 

Single-sign on steps

1. Obtain your dscout account ID by logging into your dscout account. The URL for your home screen will contain your account id (ex. /account/:YOUR_ACCOUNT_ID).

2. From your Okta Admin Console go to Applications > Applications > Browse App Catalog and search for "dscout".  Select dscout and click "Add Integration"

3. Configure your Relay State

a. From your Okta Admin Console, navigate to Applications > dscout

b. Click the Sign on tab

c. Click Edit from the Settings section

d. Enter the following values for the default relay state field: "https://app.dscout.com/efflux/home/ACCOUNTID" replacing "ACCOUNTID" with the AccountID value you obtained in Step 1

4. Configure your Account ID

a. Scroll down to advanced sign on settings
b. Enter the Account ID value obtained in Step 1 in the "Account ID" field

5. Click “Save”

6. Use the Assignments tab to assign the application to any users or groups you wish to grant access to.

7. Copy the Metadata XML from the Okta Admin Console, SAML 2.0 Sign on methods section.

8. Contact your account manager and request that they enabled SAML 2.0 for your account. Attach the Metadata XML file from the previous step.

9. Your account manager will respond back once your account is ready, and you may begin assigning people to the application.

 

SP-initiated SSO

  1. Visit https://auth.dscout.com/auth/sign_in and click the “Sign in with SSO” link.
  2. Enter your email address, click “Authenticate” and you’ll be sent to Okta to login.
  3. Authenticate in Okta.
  4. You’ll be redirected back to dscout.
    1. If it’s your first time logging in, you’ll be prompted to fill out a few additional fields (name, backup password, terms of service, etc.).

IDP-initiated SSO

  1. Login to Okta.
  2. From your Okta home screen under “my apps”, select the dscout application.
  3. You’ll be redirected back to dscout.
    1. If it’s your first time logging in, you’ll be prompted to fill out a few additional fields (name, backup password, terms of service, etc.).
