dscout is integrated with Figma, the collaborative design tool. You can connect your individual Figma account with dscout to use with task questions in dscout usability missions. Connecting your Figma account gives dscout read-only access to the Figma files you have access to. You can opt out anytime by removing the Figma integration in Figma or dscout.

Using the dscout > Figma integration with a dscout usability mission allows you to:

  • Collect prototype heat maps and click events in a dscout usability task question. dscout cannot access the Figma data to generate heat maps and click events without the Figma integration.
  • Select a start screen (frame) to easily control the starting point of a task.
  • Select a success screen (frame) to easily program success

Connecting your Figma Account

Requirements for connecting your Figma account

Since Figma is connected with dscout at the individual level (not the account level), the Figma user account you connect with dscout must have access to the Figma projects, files, and prototypes you want to add to usability mission task questions.

When to connect your Figma account

We recommend connecting your Figma account with dscout before you add any Figma prototype links to usability task questions. If you connect your Figma account to dscout after adding prototypes, you will need to refresh the prototypes added to the mission prior to connecting your Figma account.

How to connect your Figma account

You can connect your Figma account in two places: in the Integrations tab within Profile Settings or within a usability mission.

Connecting your Figma account through the Integrations tab

  1. Head to the Integrations tab, located on the Integrations page of your profile settings.

  1. Click Connect Figma account. This will prompt you to authorize dscout to access your Figma data.
  2. Once connected, you will see a success message, and the Not connected chip will show as Connected.

Connecting your Figma account through a usability mission

Figma can also be connected through the Manage task URLs modal in a usability mission.

  1. Select Task URLs in the upper right-hand corner of the Create tab in a usability mission.
  2.  Click Manage Figma integration.
  3. Once you are in the Manage Figma Integration modal, select Connect Figma and follow the flow to grant Figma access to dscout.

  1. Once connected, you will see a success message, and the Not connected chip will show as Connected.
  2. You will need to refresh any prototypes added to the mission prior to connecting your Figma account, or they will remain in an unconnected state. To refresh your prototype, select the refresh icon next to your prototype.

Disconnecting your Figma Account

A Figma account can be removed from dscout by navigating to the Integrations page of your Profile Settings and clicking the “Disconnect Figma account button.”

The Figma account can also be disconnected through the Manage Task URLs modal by selecting Disconnect Figma.

Any prototypes you added prior to disconnecting will remain in a connected state.
