What is Chrome Connect?
If you choose to connect with Chrome in dscout, Chrome Connect allows dscout to collect & store the websites you visit within the Chrome browser. Chrome Connect is a completely optional add-on to your dscout experience. You can use the Chrome extension for other types of dscout studies without this functionality. Downloading the Chrome extension does not automatically enter you into this new program.
How does Chrome Connect work?
When you opt into connecting Chrome, the dscout Chrome extension will automatically collect the URLs of websites you visit, the number of times you visit those websites, and the date and time you visited them. This will also include any search terms you have entered into your Chrome browser.
What does dscout do with data that comes from Chrome Connect?
Right now, Chrome Connect is only being utilized for specific data based behavioral studies that require this permission. If you haven’t been selected for a study and choose to opt into Chrome Connect, it will begin to connect, but will not yet provide you with extra opportunities or payment.

Opting into Chrome Connect
You can use the Chrome Extension for dscout studies without being part of the new Chrome Connection. This connection is for behavioral based data studies and is completely optional. Some new types of studies may require this permission, but you always have control over what you choose to participate in.
Opt Out Chrome Connect
You can opt out of data collection at any time by changing the permissions in the settings of the Chrome extension or by deleting your Chrome extension. If you opt out during a mission that required this permission, you may forfeit payment and will not be able to take part in these types of missions in the future.
Data Deletion
You can ask us to delete the data we've collected from your Chrome connection by sending an email to support@dscout.com. Data that has been shared in missions or aggregated into insights will not be deleted.
