Note: In accordance with our Scout Terms, you must be 16 (in Europe) or 13 (in the US) to open an account. If you’re under 18 (anywhere in the world), your parent or guardian needs to give you permission.

Creating your account on Android mobile devices

1. Open the dscout mobile app.
2. Click on the Triple Horizontal Lines icon ☰ on the top-right corner of your screen to surface the side menu.
3. Tap on Sign In.
4. When you’re on the Sign In page, tap on the Sign Up button.
5. Enter your first name, last name, email, and a password and hit Sign Up (please note: your password must be at least 12 characters long and contain at least one letter and one non-letter).
6. Set up your profile.

Creating your account on iOS mobile devices

1. Open the dscout mobile app.
2. Tap the Create Account button.
3. Enter your first name, last name, email, and a password (please note: your password must be at least 12 characters long and contain at least one letter and one non-letter).
4. Hit Next on the top right corner of the screen.
5. Choose to set up your permissions.
6. Set up your profile.

Creating your account via email invite

If you've been recruited by an external recruiting agency to participate in a research project on dscout's platform, you'll want to set up your account via the invite email you received from participate@dscout.com.

Note: While you can accept your invitation and create your account via web, we recommend doing everything from your phone to make the transition to the app as quick and seamless as possible!

1. Locate your invitation email. This will be from participate@dscout.com and the subject line will start with "Share Your Opinion"
2. Click on the blue "Claim Your Spot" button in the email.
3. On your mobile device, this will prompt you to open dscout in a web browser.
4. Your name and email will be pre-filled; simply fill out a password unique to you and tap the Sign Up button! (Please note: your password must be at least 12 characters long and contain at least one letter and one non-letter.)
5. Agree to our Scout Terms and Conditions by hitting the Accept button (please note: you’ll have to scroll down and read the fine print before the Accept button is activated).
6. Download the app and log in! Your invite will be waiting for you in the app.
