When included in a screener or Express mission, knockout questions automatically disqualify scouts based on certain answer choices that you select. These applicants will be skipped to the end of the screener or Express mission, and will not count against the number of applications or entries you need. In the case of an Express mission, the scout will not be paid for their participation, and you will not see their submission.

It's almost always a good idea to begin with a knockout question or two. This will save a lot of time and effort on the part of both you and scouts who aren't qualified for your project.

To apply knockout options to a question in a screener or Express mission:

  1. Click on the drop-down menu next to the response choice
  2. Select the "Knockout" option

When reviewing questions, you'll know which answers terminate applications, but the the applicants themselves won't.

In screeners, scouts terminated through a knockout question will not appear in the applications you receive. You can review where applicants were terminated by checking the Programming insight that generates after launching a screener.
