If you notice a participant’s response isn’t particularly helpful, you may want to hide it from the rest of your data. This can keep you organized during analysis and ensure the data you share with your stakeholders is accurate and useful.
To exclude a response from a study:
- Navigate to the Responses tab of your study.
- Select Participants in the left sidebar.
- Select the participant whose response you want to exclude. The participant’s details are displayed in the right sidebar.
- Click the three-dot icon in the right sidebar.
- Select Exclude entry from data set. A confirmation modal is displayed.
- Click Exclude entry to confirm.
Now, the selected response is hidden. Hidden responses are not visible alongside the other responses in your study, either in the Questions view or the Participants view. Hidden responses are also excluded from any data you may export from Dscout.
When your study has hidden responses, you’ll see the View hidden entries icon at the top of your list of participants:
Re-include a response
If you no longer wish for a response to be hidden from your study, you can re-include it (or unhide it).
To re-include a hidden response in a study:
- Navigate to the Responses tab of your study.
- Select Participants in the left sidebar.
- Click the View hidden entries icon at the top of your list of participants. Your study’s hidden entries are displayed.
- Select the participant whose response you want to re-include. The participant’s details are displayed in the right sidebar.
- Click the three-dot icon in the right sidebar.
- Select Reinclude in my data set. A confirmation modal is displayed.
- Click Re-include entry to confirm.
Now, the selected response is once again included in your study. You’ll see it alongside the other responses, both in the Questions view and the Participants view. The response will also be included in any data you export from your study going forward.
