# Navigate an interview session
Once you’re in an interview session, it’s important to know what tools are at your disposal, as well as how to access them. Refer to the image and table below for help navigating an interview session:

Tip: When creating markers during an interview session, green lines will appear above the timeline to denote the marked time.

| Creates a marker at the current time in the interview session. When clicked, a marker is immediately created and accessible in the **Markers** tab, and a window is displayed allowing you to add an optional marker label. |
| **Enable/disable camera** button (12) | ✅ Moderators

| Toggles your camera on or off. Blue indicates that your camera is on. Red indicates that your camera is off. |
| **Mute/unmute** button (13) | ✅ Moderators

| Toggles your microphone on or off. Blue indicates that your microphone is on. Red indicates that your microphone is off. |
| **Share screen** button (14) | ✅ Moderators

| Shares your screen with the participant and any observers or guests. When clicked, your browser’s window selection is displayed. Choose which window or screen you wish to share, then click **Share**. |

| Toggles real-time closed captioning on or off for the interview session. Every individual controls their own closed captioning.
Note: Captions default to your study’s selected language regardless of the language spoken during a session.

| Displays the session settings window. Here, you’ll find the following options:
- Camera: Allows you to select alternate camera devices for use during your session.
- Blur background: Allows you to blur the background of your own video feed. When toggled ON, your background will be blurred. When toggled OFF, your background will not be blurred.
- Audio input: Allows you to select alternate microphones for use during your session.
- Noise cancellation: Allows you to minimize the amount of background noise picked up by your microphone. This is useful if you conduct your sessions in a loud environment and is enabled by default.
- Audio output: Allows you to select alternate speakers or headphones for use during your session.
