# Recruitment options in a usability test

Finding the right participants is the key to great research. When conducting usability tests, you have a few options to find just the voices you want to hear.

To recruit for your study, you can:

* **Auto-recruit from the Dscout Panel:** Build a screener into your study to qualify or disqualify applicants from Dscout’s existing Scout Panel. Those who meet your criteria automatically advance to your study. Those who don’t are rejected.
* **Auto-recruit from Dscout's Partner Panels:** Build a screener into your study to qualify or disqualify applicants from Dscout’s Partner Panels like Respondent. Participants complete your screener on the relevant third-party platform and are then redirected to Dscout to complete the study if they qualify. For more information, see [Auto-recruit from Partner Panels](/recruit-participants/partner-panels/auto-recruit-from-partner-panels.md).
* **Recruit from standalone screener:** Invite participants you’ve already found using a Dscout screener to your study. For more information, see [Add participants from a screener to a usability test](/usability-tests/what-are-usability-tests-in-dscout/add-participants-from-a-screener-to-a-usability-test.md).
* **Invite your own participants using a share link:** Generate a share link to send to participants you’ve found outside of Dscout. For more information on sharing links with participants, see [Share usability test links with participants](/usability-tests/manage-a-usability-test/share-a-usability-test-link-with-participants.md).
* **Invite your own participants from Dscout's Private Panels:** Add participants to your study from your own Private Panels. For more information, see [Participant flow in a usability test](/usability-tests/manage-a-usability-test/participant-flow-in-a-usability-test.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.dscout.com/usability-tests/what-are-usability-tests-in-dscout/recruitment-options-in-a-usability-test.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
