# Set up Tango Card for a study

Once Tango Card is connected to your organization, each study needs its own Tango Card reward before you can pay participants. If your Tango Card platform holds more than one funding account, you'll also choose which one the study pays from.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** Haven't connected Tango Card yet? Start with [Set up the Tango Card integration](/private-panels/integrations/private-panels-integrations/tango-card-integration/set-up-the-tango-card-integration.md).
{% endhint %}

### Choose a reward and funding account

**To set up Tango Card for a study:**

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Open the study you want to pay with Tango Card, then navigate to **Study Settings**.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://1440167164-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FT7fhyut5rrQHwe5QRGot%2Fuploads%2Fo8QtfHc29irupTitqdlD%2FTangocard%20(7).jpg?alt=media&amp;token=d43cccd6-b24d-4c34-af60-c9cc93489067" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Confirm the study's incentive currency is set to **USD**. Tango Card payments are processed in USD only.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Under **Incentive**, click the **Tango Card Reward** drop-down, then select the gift card you want to send participants.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** Rewards are pulled live from your Tango Card catalog, so the list can take a moment to load.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
(If applicable) Click the **Tango Card Funding account** drop-down, then select the account this study should pay from.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://1440167164-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FT7fhyut5rrQHwe5QRGot%2Fuploads%2F6zMa8HxkeMuBReXwxfFA%2FTangocard%20(2).jpg?alt=media&amp;token=fd3d8f36-8af2-45c1-be36-d95d7e0c3a2d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** This drop-down only appears when your Tango Card platform has more than one usable funding account. If you have exactly one, payments draw from it automatically and there's nothing to choose.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

Your selections save with the study, and they're used every time you pay participants in it.

### What appears in the Reward drop-down?

Private Panels only lists Tango Card rewards it can safely send, because you enter the incentive amount yourself at payment time. A reward appears when it's:

* **Variable amount.** Fixed-value gift cards (for example, a card that only comes in $25) are excluded, since they'd reject the amount you enter.
* **Priced in USD.**
* **Active** in your Tango Card catalog.

Rewards are listed as the brand followed by the reward name (for example, `Amazon.com — Amazon eGift Card`) and sorted alphabetically.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Tip:** Missing a brand you expect to see? It most likely only offers fixed-value cards, or isn't priced in USD. Check the reward's details in your Tango Card portal.
{% endhint %}

### What appears in the Funding account drop-down?

In Tango Card, a funding account is a budget that holds a balance and places orders. Private Panels lists the accounts on your platform that are:

* **Active.** Inactive and frozen accounts are excluded.
* **Denominated in USD.**

Accounts are listed by their display name in Tango Card, or by their account identifier when they don't have one.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.dscout.com/private-panels/integrations/private-panels-integrations/tango-card-integration/set-up-tango-card-for-a-study.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
