Your study incentive determines how much each participant will receive for completing an interview session. The incentive should reflect the time and effort required on their part, and it should also be enticing enough to encourage active participation.
You have the following incentive options in an interview study:
-
Monetary: Participants will receive the designated dollar amount for the study.
- Paid via Dscout: You approve participant payments in the Dscout platform, which Dscout then processes on your behalf through PayPal.
- Not paid via Dscout: You are responsible for processing any and all payments for participants who take part in your study.
- Non-monetary: Participants will receive a reward in some form other than money. For example, a piece of thank-you merchandise from your company.
- No reward: Participants will not receive any reward for the study.
Tip: For advice on what to offer your participants, see How much should an interview study pay?
To set your study’s incentive:
- Navigate to the Setup tab of your study. Then, select Details.
- Click anywhere in the Incentive section.
- Select a Reward type.
- Depending on your selection, enter the following:
- Monetary: Enter a dollar amount participants will receive, and select whether the reward will be paid via Dscout or not.
- Non-monetary: Enter a brief description of the reward participants will receive.
- No reward: No entry needed. Participants will not see any mention of a reward for this study.
- Click Done.
Now, your incentive is set. Any incentives will be shown to participants when they join your study. If you’ve selected No reward, no mention of an incentive will be made to participants.
